Virtual Appraisal Terms and Conditions

This is our proposal for a Virtual Appraisal which includes actual sales records when agreed to by the client, will constitute a binding agreement between Look Appraisal LLC and the client.

The purpose of the Virtual Appraisal Report is to determine FMV (fair market value) of the antique, books and book sets, collectible(s), art, or vintage clothing. In preparing a Virtual Appraisal Report, we will consider various factors based on our experience and training including but not limited to the condition of the piece, recent sales of comparable pieces, age, provenance, and general physical condition.

Items not accepted: autograph analysis, sports trading cards, fine jewelry, fine silver, precious metals, coins and currencies, stamps, motor vehicles, and mechanical equipment. The virtual service is not eligible or intended for any charitable donation appraisal, insurance replacement value(s), insurance coverage, probate, insurance claims, legal disputes, financing, whole home appraisals, walk throughs, and large sets or libraries of items. Please contact us to determine if an onsite appraisal inspection is an option for your personal property.

Look Appraisal does not provide appraisal services for any of the following categories of personal property: sports trading cards, fine jewelry, precious metals, coins and currencies, stamps, livestock, items affixed to and considered part of the home's structure, firearms, watercraft, and aircraft. Although we do not appraise items of this nature, we may be able to accommodate the appraisal request through a 3rd party specialist.

If we agree to complete a Virtual Appraisal Report based upon a digital image(s), we will prepare an appraisal summary to include the following information: maker name and/or artist nationality if available, general description of the piece, an estimated date or date range of the item, dimensions of the item, applicable comparable sales records, and estimated value. The Virtual Appraisal Report will be based on the information derived from research and analysis in support of the appraiser’s opinion.

The Virtual Appraisal Report will take no more than seven (7) business days from the date of the receipt of your payment to be delivered. We will email the report to you at the email address you provided no more than seven (7) business days from the date of the receipt of your payment; verbal reports are delivered verbally by teleconference or video-conference calls and no physical report is generated for a client. If additional sales records and/or information are requested after the initial delivery of your Virtual Appraisal Report, those additional sales records will be provided to you no more than ten (10) business days after the receipt of your payment for the additional sales records. Look Appraisal reserves the right to refuse to appraise any item offered for appraisal or cancel any order.
